Head of Engineering
Remote
We seek a dynamic and experienced Head of Engineering to lead our global engineering team at Truebase. As the Head of Engineering, you will be pivotal in shaping our technology roadmap, building a high-performing engineering team, and delivering innovative software products to delight our users. You should be a hands-on leader, able to code and architect at a high level while providing strategic guidance to the team. This remote position allows you to work from anywhere in the world.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a global engineering team to deliver high-quality software products
Define and execute the engineering strategy, roadmap, and priorities aligned with the company's goals
Drive technical excellence, innovation, and best practices across the engineering organization
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to ensure smooth and timely delivery of features and enhancements
Foster a culture of continuous learning, growth, and collaboration within the engineering team
Evolve the company's strategic direction and technical roadmap
Build and shape the engineering culture, drive technical decisions, and deliver new product features
Be the technology face of the company with conferences, events, and media
Requirements
10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Deep knowledge and expertise in software engineering principles, practices, and methodologies
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex software projects on time and within budget
Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in building and managing high-performing engineering teams
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Experience working in an early-stage startup
Experience with agile software development life cycle using Scrum/Lean methodologies, source control such as Github, continuous builds, and continuous integration systems
Hands-on coding experience with backend technologies such as Node.js and MongoDB
Extensive coding experience with frontend technologies such as React.js and Redux frameworks
Experience working with designing and maintaining JSON-based RESTful APIs
Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and optimization skills
Bachelor or graduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Ideal qualifications
Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
Background in AI/ML, NLP, or related technologies
Familiarity with the B2B sales prospecting industry or CRM systems
Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field
Working experience integrating data science models in predictive and artificial intelligence systems
Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
